Reliability : Fairly poor. Source insists he remained in the hospital at SEOUL until 5 Oct 50 and then departed for INCHON.
3. MILITARY HISTORY:24 Jul 50 - PW was inducted at PUNGSAN (豐山) and sent to WONSAN (元山) by train.
25 Jul 50 - PW arrived at WONSAN and assigned to 7th Div, 2nd Regiment, 3d Bn, 7th Company, 2nd Platoon.
5 Aug 50 - 2nd Regiment left WONSAN for SEOUL (京城) to defend the city. The troops (300) were moved in 12 trucks. The other elements of the 7th Div had already left for SEOUL before PW's induction into the army.
9 Aug 50 - The 2nd Regiment arrived at SEOUL and was engaged in sending food, ammo and other supplies to INCHON. These supplies came from P'YONGYANG bv train and were taken to INCHON by trucks.
25 Sep 50 - PW was wounded in the left hip and sent to SEOUL University Hospital.
5 Oct 50 - PW and 50 others (with minor wounds) were given 25 rifles, 125 rounds of ammunition and about 75 grenades. This group of 50 patients marched to ward INCHON.
6 Oct 50 - PW and nine others deserted on the way.
26 Oct 50 - After roving in the mountains, obtaining food wherever he could, arrived alone at his home in CHONMAM MYON (天南面)
17 Oct 50 - Source was picked up by the local police at his home.
4. PERSONALITIES:LEE, Il Son (李日成) (리일성), Maj Gen, 45 or 46, Division CG, o/a 4 Oct 50 commanded the 7th Div at INCHON.
KIM, Son Ui (金成律) (김성율), Sr Lt, 28, 3d Bn CO, temporary CO at INCHON.
5. CODE NUMBER:2nd Regt - 702 Unit.
6. ORGANIZATION:The 7th Div consisted of three infantry regiments and one artillery regiment, each regiment consisted on three battalions, each battalion consisted of three companies.
PW stated that since this division was activated at WONSAN on 10 Jul 50, it only had a total strength of 1050 men; 300 in infantry regiments and 150 in the artillery regiment. The artillery regiment had only 6 76mm guns.
7. WOUNDED:There were about 250 patients in SEOUL University Hospital who largely came from the PUSAN (釜山) and MASAN (馬山) areas. 50 minor patients were sent to front line and others WONSAN 5 Oct 50.
