PW appeared to be in good physical condition at interrogation.
Captured when his unit was overran in the vicinity of YONGBYON (YE 4011) 6 Nov 50. PW cooperative but of below average intelligence. Previously interrogated by 24th Div, 6 Nov 50.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:a. Chronology:
PW was inducted into the Chinese Nationalists Army at TSUSOONG-SHIEN in Jul 45. Served with the Nationalist Army until captured by the CCF at CHINGHOW. Assigned to the 40th Army, 119th Div, 355th Regt, 3rd Bn, 7th Co at CHINGHOW Dec 48.
Mar 49, 40th Army together with the 43rd Army. 40th Army departed HAINAN Oct 49, arrived at LUCHOW port. 43rd Army garrisoned HAINAN. 40th Army marched for 16 days to KWANGJIN and by train for eight (8) days to ANTUNG via MUKDEN. 40th Army trained for approx 2 months. Training consisted of small arms firing and mountain climbing. 118th Div led the crossing of the YALU River 19 Oct 50. 119th Div crossed 20 Oct followed by the 120th Div 21 Oct 50. After arrival in KOREA, the 119th Div headed SE. 119th Div marched for 4 nights and arrived at an unknown location on the 5th day. At this location the unit was engaged by UN forces and after two hours it withdrew. While withdrawing, PW's unit was surrounded by UN forces and PW captured.

c. Unit Organization:
The 355th Regt was composed of 3 Bns with 3 Rifle Cos and 1 HMG Co in each Bn.
1 Arty Regt was assigned to the 40th Army. 1 Arty Bn in each Regt.
4. SPECIAL EEI:a. There was one Chinese-Korean interpreter (Korean) in the 7th Co.
b. Uniform worn at Time of interrogation.
CCF winter uniform over CCF summer uniform. CCF winter shoes.
c. PW's unit marched after crossing the border.
d. Mission of Present Unit.
PW was told that they were to assist the NK army because they were both communist armies.
5. GENERAL:PW heard that an airfield was located approx 7 km NW of ANTUNG at a place called SUINGYAN (phonetic).
