Information is fairly reliable. PW was cooperative, however due to limited time in service with his unit, he lacked information.
Not recommended for further interrogation.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
15 Aug 50: Conscripted at CHONGJU, and assigned to the 3rd Co, 8th Bn of the 93rd Regt as a rifleman at CHINNAMPO (YG 1090)
17 Oct 50: 93rd Regt was ordered to withdraw to PAKCHON (YE 2110). PW and 8 others were left to load kitchen utensils etc on a horse and wagon.
21 Oct 50: PW & 8 others arrived in PAKCHON, learned that their unit had moved further north to SINUIJU.
23 Oct 50: On their way home, PW & 5 others were picked up by ROK Troops and taken to P'YONGYANG Prison.
Unit Organization and Strength:

The 93rd Rifle Regt (believed to be attached to the 45th Div) consisted of 6 reserve Bns and 3 line Bns (rifle). There were about 5 sub-units directly attached to the Regt. PW estimates about 3,500 men were in the Regt, most of them recruits.
The 8th Bn consisted of 4 Cos and two sub-units - 45 mm mortar and HMG Plats.
Equipment:
Unit was to receive weapons at P'YONGYANG as it retreated to PAKCHON. However, PW does not know whether it actually did since he arrived after it left P'YONGYANG for SINUIJU.

8th Bn CO - KIM Chi Fan, Capt, Age - 32 (?). Former graduate P'YONGYANG lst OTS.
8th Bn Political Officer, PYON Ho Myong, Sr Lt, Age - 35 (?).
Graduate P'yongyang 2nd OTS.
Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of unit was very low, since the men were forced into the service and received, abusive treatment while in the army.
