2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative. Information seems reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
8 Aug 48: Volunteered at CHANGJIN (長津) and sent to military school where he specialized in wireless communication for six (6) months.
5 Mar 50: Assigned to CHINNAMP'O Naval Unit, communication section as a wireless operator.
3 Oct 50: Commissioned a Jr Lt and put in charge of wireless and telephone section.
18 Oct 50: 594 Naval unit left CHINNAMP'O with the intention of going to YONGAMP'O (龍巖浦) (YC 1521) on foot.
20 Oct 50: PW and unit arrived at SUNCHON (YD 5257) (順天) where PW deserted.
25 Oct 50: Surrendered to the UN Forces at SUNCHON.

Unit Organization & Strength:
CHINNAMP'O 594 Naval Unit - Composed of aocommunication Branch (200 men) Supply Branch, Chief of Staff Branch, Navy Branch, and Security Branch.
Communication Branch composed of Semaphore Section (45 men), wireless Section (50 men), telegraph section (30 men), Supply section (5 men), and Cultural Section (5 men).
10 × men from the communication section were at CHODO (草島) CHANGSAN GOT.
Equipment (as of 18 Oct 50 - Communication Section)
1 × switchboard, 10 × telephones, 2 × teletype, 5 × wire-oss less. Rangge of wireless - 4 km or less.

Knowledge of Other Units:
The 239 Arty Brigade and the 918, and 956 Marine Brigades were at CHINNAMP'O when PW was there.

Cultural CO - LEE, Chong Nak, Col

Morale & Propaganda:
Morale was very low due to lack of supplies. Cultural officers always reminded the troops that NKA would emerge as victors so they should never give up a fight until the end.
