2. ASSESSMENT:
PW talked freely. Had 2 yrs of nursing before induction. Info - fair.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
13 Nov 50 - Inducted at CHUUL (朱乙) into Medical Section, 41st Div, 2nd Regt with another nurse; PAK, Ha Sun (朴花順) 18. These two were previously employed at the SAENGGI RYONG Coal Miners Hosp.
14 Nov 50 - With 15 medical personnel, arrived SAMHYAENG (三鄕) by two trucks.
16 Nov 50 - Above 15 persons arrived YONGAM TONG (竜岩洞). Established regt'l Hosp in civilian homes.
19 Nov 50 - Arrived SAMHYAENG. Captured while taking a nap together with a medical aid man, a female nurse and 5 soldiers.

5. ORGANIZATION & PERSONNEL:
2nd Regt: Medical Section: 15 persons (1 Sr Capt, 1 Capt, 1 Lt (female), 2 nurses (females), 5 M/Sgts, and 5 aid men.
Each Bn: 3 Med Dets; each Det: 1 doctor (Capt), 1 M/Sgt, 4 aid men.
Each Co: 2 medical aid men.

6. REGTL MEDICS: FIELD PRACTICE:
The medics used village homes as hospitals and were usually located about 2 miles from the front. Floor mats were used for beds and about 5 men were collected in a typical Korean room.
At SAMHYAENG, (2 days) there were about 30 casualties daily, while at YONGAM (3 days), there were about 35-50 casualties daily. After preliminary treatment, patients were transferred to 41st Div Hosp at SONGMAK on trucks.
Officers, nurses and aid men did similar work, and there were many cases where the two latter groups performed amputations. Most of them were experienced and performed good operations.
There were enough manually operated instruments, bandages and medicine. These were supplied by Div Hosp upon request. Such items, PW noticed, were sent from RUSSIA and some had US and Jap markings. More than 50% of the equipment and medicine was transferred to CHUNAM (朱南) from YONGAM, and the rest was captured.
