2. ASSESSMENT:
PW seemed to be of average intelligence. Cooperative. Due to his short length of Army life not much information was available.
Reliability - Fair.

3. IMLITARY HISTORY:
2 Sep 50 - Inducted at SEOUL and was assigned to the 5th RR Security Brig, 6th Bn, 4th Co.
Received no military training.
15 Sep 50 - The 4th Co left SEOUL for HAGARU RI (下碣里).
20 Oct 50 - On the way to HAGARU RI, the 4th Co were engaged near YANGDOK (陽德), suffered heavy casualties. Only 30 men out of 160 men remained.
26 Oct 50 - PW deserted at YANGDOK and started toward his home in HAERYONG (会寧).
22 Nov 50 - PW was captured at PUNGSAN (豐山).

4. ORGANIZATION:
The 5th RR Security Brig was activated at SEOUL on 2 Sep 50, from new conscripts. The 5th RR Security Brig was composed of 6 Bns. The 6th Bn was composed of 4 Cos.

5. STRENGTH:
Strength of 5th RR Security Brig was estimated at approx 3,800. In the 4th Co there were about 160 men.

6. WEAPONS:
One third of each Co was equipped with Japanese rifles (model 38), and 50 rds of ammo. Every officer had a 7.62mm "SHPAGIN" PPSH SMG.
No heavy weapons.
No horses or trucks.

7. CODE NUMBER:
5th RR Security Brig : 6432

8. PERSONALITIES:
KIM, CHANG ULY (金昌律) (김창률), Sr Lt, about 30, 4th Co Commander.

9. FOREIGN ELEMENTS:
PW on the way home from YANGDOK, observed approx 200 CCF troops in HAGARU RI (下碣里). Most of these troops were equipped with Japanese rifles model 38 or Russian rifles.

10. MORALE:
Morale of the 5th RR Security Brig, 6th Bn, 4th Co was extremely low, and they were always ready to flee upon hearing a rifle report.
Food - Once or twice a day. Mainly consisted of rice and potatoes. Food was procured locally without paying for it.
