1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW had a slight wound on the forehead. He deserted his unit because he did not desire to fight for the communist and voluntarily surrendered to the UN Forces 6 Nov 50. PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. Recommended for further interrogation. Previously interrogated by the 24th Div 1PW Team 7 Nov 50.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW volunteered for the Chinese Nationalists Army Oct 48. Captured by the Chinese Communist Army Oct 49. While serving with the Nationalist Army, PW held the rank of Superior Private. Immediately after capture by the Communist Army PW was assigned to the 38th Army, 112th Div, 335th Regt at PEIPING, CHINA. At PEIPING, unit trained until Aug 50. PW's unit moved to SUIPING for told by their officers that UN Forces would attack CHINA and that they were to defend the border. 38th Army departed SUIPING o/a 12 Oct 50 for ANTUNG and remained there for approx five days. While at ANTUNG, PW was told by his officer that the 39th, 40th, 41st, and 42nd Armies were at ANTUNG. 38th Army crossed the YALU River o/a 20 Oct 50. PW heard that other units crossed the YALU River prior to the 38th Army.

b. Unit Organization:
38th Army consists of the 111th, 112th, and 113th Divs. 112th Div consists of the 334th, 335th, and 336th Regts. 1st and 2nd Bns of the 336th Regt are Arty Bns and the 3rd Bn is a Cavalry Bn. The 334th Regt and 335th Regts consisted of 3 Bns each. Each Bn consists of 3 Rifle Cos and 1 HMG Co.

c. Equipment:
The rifle Cos are equipped with 3 LMGs, 3 × 50mm mortars, and Jap type rifles. PW had no further information on equipment.

d. Personalities:
112th Div Comdr: TONG (fnu)
335th Regt'l Comdr: WANG, In-san
2nd Bn Comdr: WHANG, Chuin-kui

4. SPECIAL EEI:
a. There was two Chinese-Korean interpreters (Korean) assigned to the 5th Co.
b. Uniform worn at Time of interrogation.

5. GENERAL:
a. Ammo Supply:
PW stated that he received 50 rds of rifle ammunition and 4 hand grenades at ANTUNG, but had not received any additional ammunition after crossing the border.

b. Enemy Aircraft and Airfields:
PW did not observe any airfields in MANCHURIA. However, he observed 2 CCF aircraft (3 engine bombers) flying over TUNPEI (東北). PW has no knowledge of any CCF airforce unit in KOREA or MANCHURIA.

c. U.S. POWs:
PW observed approx 17 ROK PWs and 4 or 5 US PWs at SHIJUN RR Station (2nd RR Station from SINUIJU after crossing the YALU River) on 23 Oct 50.

d. Morale:
PW stated that the majority of the men in his unit are former Nationalist soldiers and the majority of former Nationalist Army Officers are now privates in the Communist Army.
