PW spoke freely but had no tactical information. Reliability - good.
3. MILITARY HISTORY:14 Aug 50 - Inducted at P'YONGYANG. Attended OCS (Signal).
24 Sep 50 - 100 Signal officers graduated. Commissioned Jr Lts.
28 Sep 50 - 8 Signal officers departed P'YONGYANG.
14 Oct 50 - Arrived at YONGCHONG (永川) (between NANAM and CHONGJIN) and was assigned to 399th Unit, Comm Co. Unit was in the midst of being organized and recruits were coming in daily with no trng whatsoever. Strength as of this date was approx 200.
17 Oct 50 - 399th Unit arrived as SONGMAK (松幕). Strength: approx 700-800.
30 Oct 50 - Entire unit arrived at HAEAM (会岩). Strength: 1,500.
15 Nov 50 - Entire unit departed HAEAM.
17 Nov 50 - Regtl Hqs and Gun Bn arrived at CHAYON Ri; other bns went towards YONGAM.
19 Nov 50 - PW and 4 other were captured while enroute to Regtl Hqs to receive orders.
4. ORGANIZATION, PERSONNEL & WEAPONS.3rd Regt (399th Unit): Composed of 3 inf bns; 1 gun bn.
Inf Bn: 350 men
Gun Bn: approx 250 men; 3 batteries (70 men each)
Note: Unit was organized according to TO &E but the only heavy weapons it possessed were 3 x 120mm mortars.
The Gun Bn consisted of a ammo carrier plat (24 mon) and a comm plat (28 men). The gun batteries had no guns. Other weapons included 65 rifles, 5 PPSH SMG's and 2 hand grenades per man.

1. 15 Nov 50: Heard 41st Div Hqs was located in RR tunnel at TOMAKTON (4 Kms N of CHONGJIN) and that it was moving S with the regts.
2. PW was convinced that the NKA would win this war because he was told that approx 100,000 CCF troops are now fighting in KOREA and that 2 air divs with Koreans who received trng in USSR would arrive shortly.
