2. ASSESSMENT:
PW seems to be with-holding information. He has been with the 5th Div for more than a year and still claims to have very little knowledge.
Recommend further interrogation using "Artillery EEI".

The 10th Rest on 14 Sep 50, was located 8 kms West of POHANG. (name of place unknown)
The 10th Regt, in the event of a retreat, will take the Northwest route.
The 11th & 12th Regts were on the flanks of the 10th Regt.

4. PERSONALITIES:
5th Div C.G.- Maj Gen KIM, Chang Dok(金昌德), age 50.
10th Regt C.O. - Col PAK CHONG DOK(朴正德), age 35
10th Regt Asst C.O. - Lt Col KE U Sop(게우섭), age 30.
10th Regt, Political Officer - Maj PAK Kum Chol (朴금철), age 28

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Volunteered for military service 27 March 47, with 150 others at KANGGYE, and assigned to 1st Div, 1st Regt, 1st Bn, Mortar Co. Between March 47, to 15 Dec 48, the PW was trained as a mortar crew man.
On 15 Dec 48, the PW was transfered to the 1st OCS in PYONGYANG. He graduated on Oct 49, with the rank of 2nd Lt. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the 5th Div, 10th Regt, 45mm AT Gun Co. Between Oct 49, to 24 Jul 50, the 5th Div was in NANAM going through combat training.

When taken prisoner, the PW was found sleeping in the village of PUJORI.

6. ARMOR:
6 x SP Guns (SU-76’s) were seen 10 Kms West of POHANG. The SP Guns were supporting the 10th Regiment o/a 4 Sep 50.

7. ARTILLERY:
The artillery unit supporting the 10th Regt is located 4 kms West of the 10th Regt.

8. FOOD & AMMO:
Since 8 Sep 50, the 10th Regt’s food supply has been cut off.
Artillery shells were almost exhausted. On 14 Sep 50, each gun had only about 20 rounds.
Ammo for the Division is brought to the front at night by trucks from KANGNUNG by way of the coastal highway.
PW stated that an average of two truck-loads of small arms ammo reached the Regt daily.
Ammo for the Division was stored on both sides of the coastal highway in small piles about l km apart.

9. REPLACEMENTS:
On 8 Sep 50, the 5th Division received it's first replacements who were mostly North Koreans who reached the division by way of the coastal highway.
Wounded troops were evacuated to the rear through channels.
The 5th Div field hospital was last observed at UKAKTONG.
Troops, when separated from parent unit during battle, cannot join an adjacent unit, because company commanders have been ordered not to accept them. Desertion rate was highest among the newly arrived troops.

10. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
The mission of the 5th Div is to take the POHANG Airfield at all costs.
The troops have been ordered to fighting the last man.
The only known aid from the CCF is the conscription of Koreans living in CHINA for military service with the NK Army.

11. KNOWLEDGE OF OTHER UNITS:
The 7th Division is located 2 kms West of the 5th Division.

12. CAPTURED EQUIPMENT:
Captured equipment consisted chiefly of carbines and M-1 rifles.
The PW heard that these weapons were to be shipped to North Korea.
