3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
13 Mar 50 - Conscripted into People’s Training Center, NAJIN (羅津). Helped reconstruct barracks within center. 1,000 conscripts received 20 days basic military training. Fired 4 rounds on range.
23 Jun 50 - 1,000 conscripts assigned to 15th Div. PW assigned to Signal Plt, Arty Regt, NAJIN. Left NAJIN by rail, same day.
26 Jun 50 - Arty Regt arrived WONSAN (原山) via KILCHU (吉州), TANCH’ON (端川), HUNGNAM (興南). Left WONSAN, by rail, same day.
O/a 28 Jun 50 - Arty Regt arrived CH’UNCH’ON (春川) via CH’ORWON (鐵原). Left CH’UNCH’ON, by foot, same day.
O/a 9 Sep 50 - Arty Regt arrived in wooded mountain 1 km NE of IMP’O-DONG (林浦洞) (10 km ESE of YONGCH’ON (永川), via HONGCH’ON (洪川). YOJU (驪州), CHANGHOWON-Ni (長湖院), UMSONG (陰城), MUN’GYONG (聞慶), KUMCH’ON (金泉). (PW very uncertain about place names and dates). At NAKTONG River, 12 x 122-mm M1938 Howitzers (truck-drawn) and 24 x 76-mm M1939 Guns (truck-drawn) ferried across river on pontoon rafts without incident.
10 1000K Sep 50 - Arty Regt strafed, bombed for 20 minutes by US aircraft. PW believes all arty destroyed in attack and in subsequent artillery shelling. PW deserted unit, hid in nearby stream.
14 0500K Sep 50 - PW captured by ROK Army Unit.
