PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
PW was inducted on 7 Sep 50 at CHECHON. PW and 200 replacements left CHECHON without taking any military training. While travelling to SUNSAN SAN (1155.2 - 1454.5) from CHECHON the following places were passed:

FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
Food delivered from rear by oxcarts.
Food received from farmers. PW was fed one riceball a day.
On 11 Sep, PW and 50 men received M1891/30 rifles, 20-25 rounds per man which had been taken from dead or wounded one km N of SUNSAN SAN.
ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Objective of 1st Div was TAEGU via CHILGOK.
US PW's:
PW heard from his CO that 3rd Bn captured about 30 US troops d/u July in TAEJON area.
S. KOREAN SENTIMENTS:
PW stated that on about 30 Aug, People's Army called for volunteers. However, no one volunteered at that time, so PW and 200 Youth Organization Members were taken by the People’s Army on 7 Sep 50, after the calling of a Myon Youth Organization meeting by the Myon Mayor, who is a well-known communist leader in SANCHOK-MYON.
