The PW, together with the rest of the PWs, was pressed into the Communist 38th Army, 133rd Div, 12th Regt 13 Nov 48, The PW was taken to SHENG YANG (瀋陽) by truck. There the other troops received further training, while the PW was assigned as a second cook in his present organization.

From there, they marched to KWANGSI SHENG (広西省) via HUNAN SHENG (湖南省) arriving there in approximately 90 days. PW remained there until 12 Sep 50, when his regiment returned to MANCHURIA, first marching from TIEN CHUNG HSIEN (天中 縣) to HANKOU (韓口) then by train to KAI-YUAN (開遠). They remained there until 12 Oct 50, when his regiment left by train for the YALU River. The PW witnessed only his regiment crossing the YALU on foot 141800 1 Nov 50 into KOREA.
