2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative. Reliability of information poor.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
14 Jul 50: Conscripted at SINUIJU (新義州) (XE 2380) and assigned to the 25th Div. Received training for about two months
24 Sep 50: Commissioned a Jr Lt and assigned to the 1st Plat, 3rd Bn, 2nd Regt as a Plat Ldr. Trained recruits assigned to his platoon.
13 Oct 50: 2nd Regt left SINUIJU on foot to establish defense positions at KUSONG. 25th Div hq remained at SINUIJU.
14 Oct 50: PW and one man deserted and hid in a mountain village.
2 Nov 50: PW surrendered to UN Forces with ten others.

Unit Organization and Strength:
25th Div composed of 5 Regts. Each Regt composed of 4 Bns. Each Bn (800 men) composed of 4 Cos. Each Co composed of 4 plats.

Actual Battle Organization and Strength:
Same as above.

Equipment (In plat as of 13 Oct 50):
4 LMG’s, 4 SMG’s.

Personalities:
Unit was believed to be made up of recruits who were mostly farmers.
Some officers were believed to have been in service for a short length of time but had no combat experience.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale was low as a whole and there were many deserters due to the fact that all troops knew that they were fighting a losing war. Did not see any propaganda leaflets.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
PW states that o/a Jun 1950 the civilian population of SINUIJU was ordered by the NKA to dig trenches about 2 km outside of SINUIJU. The trench was due in Jul 1950 in a semi circle facing south. It was about 1 m deep and 50 cm wide.
