2. ASSESSMENT:
PW were cooperative. No attempts were made to evade questions. Answers were given freely. PW’s information as given believed to be reliable.

3. T/O & E AND STRENGTH:

571st Unit, as of 12 Nov 5o, was composed of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Inf Bns. Each Bn was composed of 4 Inf Cos end one HMG Co. Each Bn was composed of 4 Plats and each Plat composed of 4 Sqds.

4. LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
PW’s unit located at P’YONGYANG until UN Forces attacked that city. PW does not know where Unit moved from P’YONGYANG.

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
15 Apr 50 - Conscripted into NKA, 571 Unit.
15 Apr 50 to 15 May 50 - Basic training at P’YONGYANG.
15 May 50 to 26 Aug 50 - Assigned to 571 Unit guarding stores and warehouses.
26 Aug 50 to Oct 50 - 2nd Plat of 6th Co transferred to HUNRYON RI (黑嶺里)
27 Oct 50 - PW deserted and returned home.
25 Nov 50 Captured by Youth Security Party.

6. PERSONALITIES:
LEE, Tong Ho (리동호), Colonel, Regimental Commander, 571 Unit, between 40-50 yrs old. Height 5′ 8½″, medium build. Grew mustache and beard.

7. FOOD & AMMO:
Food - When Unit evacuated to HUN RYON RI, they loaded 3 truckloads of rice, beans, and corn. The food supply was very low when PW deserted 27 Oct 50.

8. MORALE:
The morale of the enlisted personnel vas very low, because they were conscripted into the NKA and felt that they had no chance of winning the war.
The morale of the officers was high or at least appeared so, as compered to that of the troops. Men were told that they would be killed upon surrender to UN Forces.
