Information is limited because the PW was separated from his unit since 19 Sep 50. Information seems to be reliable, although the informant was mt very intelligent.

All elements of the 13th Div on 21 Sep 50, were disorganized. The 19th, 21st and 23rd Regts attempted to regroup at CHANGHONG but were not able to do so because of superior US and ROK forces. The remaining troops of the 13th Div retreated to SANGJU to regroup. According to the 13th Div CG's plan (PW heard it from a Sr Capt who attended the conference), the 13th Div will regroup at SANGJU and will try to escape to N Korea using mountain trails.
The PW saw 1500 troops of the 1st Div retreating towards ANDONG on 20 Sep 50. He was told by the officer in command that they will attempt to go to N Korea from ANDONG using mountain trails.
The 3rd Div retreated to SANJU for the purpose of regrouping.
PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:Inducted 23 Jul 47 with 200 others at KANGWONDO, PYONGKANG GUN. Assigned to the 1st Div 45mm AT Gun Bn for training purposes. In Sep 48, the PW was transferred the Tank Officer’s Training School in PYONGYANG. In Feb 49, the PW graduated and was commissioned a 2nd Lt; then transferred to 105 Tank Brigade in PYONGYANG. On 30 May 50, he was transferred to the 13th Div in SlNUIJU. On 12 Jun 50, the 13th Div moved by rail to YONGCHON.
On 23 Sep 50, PW assumed command of the SP Gun Bn because of the deaths of the Bn CO and Bn Exec. Also appointed Major that day.
The PW was taken prisoner while attempting to retreat to SANGJU. When taken prisoner, he was dressed as a private.

All other Officers in the SP Bn were killed.
REPLACEMENTS:On 19 Sep 50, the 13th Div received 2,000 replacements.
The replacements were conscripted S Koreans. Most of the replacements were not armed. On 21 Sep 50, the 2,000 replacements retreated with the 2nd Corps Hqs.
FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:Until 20 Sep 50, the 13th Div received its Ammo and food supply from 2nd Corps Hqs in UISONG.
Ammo was transported to the Div by means of trucks and wagons at night. The supply usually failed to reach the front because of UN Aircraft.
ARTILLERY & ARMOR:The 13th Div self-propelled guns were all destroyed between 1 Sep 50 to 20 Sep 50.
It is believed that the Div lost all of it's Artillery pieces.
