ASSESSMENT:
Subject is of average intelligence and was cooperative.

T/O & E OF PW’S UNIT:
15th Division composed of three (3) rifle regiments (45th, 48th & 50th), 1st Arty Regiment, Engr Bn, Signal Bn, NCO Training Bn, AT Bn, SP Gun Bn, Medical Bn, Recon Company, Transportation Company, Guard Platoon, Arty Observing Platoon and a Political Platoon.

LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNIT:
15th Division headquarters was located between NIPAM and TOPYON until 20 Sep 50.
The 15th Division was in defensive position, North of YONGCHON.
The 73rd Indep Regiment and the 8th Division were located on the western fiank of the 15th Division while the 7th Division was on the eastern flank.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Conscripted 23 Nov 48 in HAEJU.
Received clerical training when attached to company Hq for 3 months. Transferred to regimental Hq Jan 49 and remained until March 49.
Transferred to 15th Division Hq in HOERYONG March 1949.
Commissioned a 2nd Lt, 30 June 50.

REPLACEMENTS:
From the early part of September until the 20th, approx 3,000 conscripted South Koreans were received by the 15th Division as replacements. All were untrained and unequipped. These South Koreans were conscripted from the KANGWON DO region. Weapons were salvaged from the field to arm these replacements.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
Subject received two (2) meals daily up until 20th Sep. Limited amount of supplies were received daily by trucks from ANDONG until 20 Sep by the division headquarters.
ANDONG was the supply point for units fighting in the eastern sector.
Ammo (unknown amount) was received daily by trucks until 20 Sep from ANDONG. None was received after the 20th.

ARMOR & ARTILLERY:
Thirty (30) 120mm, 122mm, 45mm and 76mm Guns were located near the division headquarters. Some guns were seen firing. A limited amount of ammo was seen. Disposition unknown after 20 Sep 50.

MORALE:
Many troops were known to desert their units to surrender.
Most have lost their fighting spirit.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
PW stated that the reason they had no tank unit was because the 15th Division was actually a training unit that had been hastily formed into a combat unit.
