1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
Subject was cooperative and intelligent. Information here in reliable.
Physical condition: Subject was wounded on the left arm and foot.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
PW was inducted on 6 Jun 48 at PYONG YANG, attended Military School and graduated on 15 May 49 as a 1st Lt. He was assigned to 19th Regt HQ at PYONG YANG. The 19th Regt departed PYONG YANG on 20 Jun 50 and arrived CHOR WON on 22 Jun 50 via rail and trucks. Departed CHOR WON on 25 Jun 50 and arrived SEOUL on 29 Jun 50. Captured on 25 Sep 50 with 14-15 soldiers of the 19th Regt by 32nd Regt. Subject and his men were hiding in a fox hole when captured.

5. FOREIGN ELEMENTS:
PW believes a Russian Colonel and a 1st Lt acted as technical advisors on AA firing at PYONG YANG.

37mm 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th BATTALIONS were of the same composition.
Transportation, Communication and Special Training Units were directly under regimental headquarters. Combined strength of these units was 400 - 500 men,
The overall strength of 19th Regt (AA) was 2,000 men.
LOSSES:
50 - 60 killed in action
50 - 60 wounded in action
50 - 60 trucks lost due to enemy action
The 1st and 2nd Bns are engaged in the battle of the NAKTONG GAN while the 3rd is in TANYANG. The 4th and 5th Bns were engaged in the battle of SEOUL.

7. MORALE:
The morale of the 19th AA Regiment has been low since the UN forces started their drive from INCHON. Troops were told that if they were captured, they would certainly be killed. Men of the 4th and 5th Bns ate only one meal a day since the UN Forces invasion. All units in the SEOUL area want to surrender but the officers threaten them.
Subject heard that, since the surrender leaflets were dropped on 24 or 25 Sep 50, troops are deserting their units by the hundreds.

8. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
UNITS IN THE VICINITY OF SEOUL: 5th Div, 18th Div, and a RR Regt are believed to be in this area. The Railroad Regiment was known to have combat experience in MANCHURIA. He believes that the NKA will not defend the 38th parallel.
