3. MILITARY HISTORY:Subject was inducted on 10 Aug 50 at CHINNAMPO (鎭南浦) and attached to the 99th Inf Regt, 3rd Bn, 2nd Co, but received no training.
O/a 26 Aug 50, the 3rd Bn and 4th Bn of the 99th Inf Regt departed CHINNAMPO (鎭南浦) by rail and arrived SEOUL 26 Aug 50. These two battalions were attached to the 15th Div in SEOUL.
The 1st and 2nd Bns of the 99th Inf Regt remained in CHINNAMPO.
The 3rd and 4th Bns of 99th Inf Regt attached to 15th Div departed SEOUL on 27 Aug 50, by rail at night, and arrived YANGPYONG (陽平) on 10 Sep 50.
When the 3rd and 4th Bns arrived at YANGPYONG (陽平), they were joined to the 1st and 2nd Bns of an unknown regt from SINUIUIJ (新義州) to form a regiment.
Total strength of these 4 bns was approx 3,000.
Prior to subject’s desertion on 11 Sep 50, the above 4 bns were unarmed.
4. CIRCUMSTANCE OF CAPTURE:PW arrived in SEOUL on 13 Sep 50 and hid in a friend's home until the morning of 27 Sep 50, when he surrendered to the SK Police.
