2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was of average intelligence and cooperative. PW was supply officer, concerned only with units directly attached to 4th Div (excluding Rifle and Arty Regt’s). Limited knowledge of CHINNAMPO. No further interrogation recommended.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
3 Mar 49 - Inducted into Trans co, 4th Div at CHINNAMP’O. Received eight months driver and mechanic training.
Mar 50 - Promoted to M-Sgt. Became Sgt/Maj of company.
11 Aug 50 - Arrived at HYOPCH’ON (陜川).
18 Aug 50 - Commissioned Lt, replacing former supply officer who was killed in accident.
31 Aug 50 - Hospitalized at a civilian hospital in CHONJU with acute appendicitis.
26 Sep 50 - All walking patients told to go to TAEJON as hospital was being abandoned.
29 Sep 50 - Arrived in CH’ONG SAN where he surrendered to ROK troops.

956th Unit in CHINNAMP’O
As of 16 Jun 50, a marine-infantry unit (陸戰步兵部隊), referred to as the 956th Unit, was stationed in three wooden ware-houses 800 meters NW of the CHINNAMP’O RR Station. This unit, composed of app 4,000 men was first activated in mid-May 1950. According to hearsay its Hqs was located in CH’ONGJIN (淸津).
According to PW’s observation, all personnel were regular army uniforms (kahki uniform with red stripes). Heaviest weapons observed were DP LMG’s and MAXIM HMG’s.
According to the latest hearsay information, the 956th Unit was still in CHINNAMP’O in late July.

There were no military clothing stores where Off and EN could purchase clothing. Unwearable clothing can be turned in for salvage.
During the period 7 Mar 50 to 16 Jun 50, no gun emplacements whatsoever observed in or around CHINNAMP’O.
Three of the known places where military clothing was manufactured were HAEJU, PY’ONGYANG and SINUIJU.
