PW is very intelligent and cooperative. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
18 Jun 46 - PW was inducted into the NK Rail Road Guard Co in HAEJU (海州).
8 Feb 48 - The RR Guard Co was was redesignated as the 4th Brigade NKPA. PW was promoted to Sgt.
Oct 48 - PW was promoted to M/Sgt, while the 4th Brigade was stationed in P'YONGYANG.
Feb 49 - PW was ordered to attend the KIM, IL SONG CHONG HAP College (金日成綜合大学) in P'YONGYANG, studied 6 hours a day on fuel and its composition, until 4 Aug 49. PW was then commissioned a Sr Capt and assigned to the 1st Armored Regt of the 105th Armored Div.
24 Jun 50 - PW's Div departed and crossed the 38° Parallel 25 Jun 50, and fought at SEOUL, CH'ONAN, KONGJU, TAEJON, YONGDONG and arrived at KUMCH'ON, 15 Sep 50.
22 Sep 50 - News of the invasion of INCH'ON by UN Forces was the reason for the 105th Armored Div withdrawal from the NAKTONG River front. Headed for SUWON. PW's 1st Regt was late in departing and reached CH'ONAN 24 Sep 50. UN Forces attacked and PW lost contact with his Regt. Escaped to ANSONG where he was taken prisoner 29 Sep 50.

Fuel Situation:
1. Light and heavy diesel oil was used for tanks.
2. Because of the very poor grade of fuel used, all tank repair units had a heavy work load overhauling engines.
3. Heavy grease was also a critical item because of UN bombings of storage areas.
4. As a substitute during the latter part of Aug 50, a ratio of 5 x US gallons of kerosene and 2 grams of alcohol was mixed as tank fuel.
5. Alcohol was confiscated from whatever area possible.
6. Large quantities of Kerosene were hidden underground by Communist elements prior to 25 Jun 50, in different areas south of the 38° Parallel.
7. The source of Kerosene supply for the 105th Armored Div while at the NAKTONG River front was CHOCH'IWON.

Personalities:
1. 105th Armored Div CG: Maj Gen YU, Kyong Su (柳京洙) Served with the Chinese 8th Route Army for 10 years as a Jr Lt. Age 33 years. YU loves his women and is considered a heavy drinker. Speaks good Chinese, Russian and Korean. Married and has one child.
