11 Feb 48: Volunteered for NKA, SARIWON (沙里院). Assigned to 2nd Div, 1st Inf Regt. Received military training.
Nov 48: Promoted from Pvt to Sgt (Sqd Ldr).
Jan 49: Transferred from 2nd Div to 592nd Ind Inf Bn KUMCH’ON (金川). Assigned Bn Supply.
Mar 49: Promoted from Sgt to Sr Sgt (Supply PCO).
28 Jun 50: 592nd Ind Inf Bn left KUMCH’ON (金川), by truck.
20 Jun 50: Arrived SEOUL via UIJONGBU (議政府).
20 Aug 50: Bn left SEOUL, on foot.
10 Sep 50: Arrived SINBAN (新反) (19 km Southeast of HYOPCH’ON (陜川) via TAEJON (大田), YONGDONG (永同), MUJU (茂朱), KOCH’ANG (居昌), KORYONG (高靈). HYOPCH’ON. Promoted from Sr Sgt to Jr Lt (Bn rations supply officer).
20 Sep 50: Bn disorganized by US Army - air attacks. General withdrawal ordered by Bn CO. PW left by convoy (2 x trucks - 35 wounded, 25 infantrymen) towards TAEJON, remainder on foot.
23 Sep 50: Arrived TAEJON via KOCH’ANG, MUJU. Herarsay Ⅰ Corps Hq at CHOCH’IWON (鳥致院). Convoy (2 x trucks) left for CHOCH’IWON.
o/a 24 Sep 50: Hearsay, ROK Army occupied CHOCH’IWON. Convoy disbanded. PW and 2 others fled on foot in east direction. Planned to escape to T’AEBAEK (太白) mountain range, thence north to 38° parallel. Believes only 80 of 500 (original strength 28 Jun 50) escaped into T’AEBAEK mountains.
26 1100 K Sep: PW and 3 others captured by ROK Army unit MIWON-NI (al米院里) (15km East of CH’ONGJU).
