2. ASSESSMENT:
This PW was of average intelligence and was cooperative, but information limited. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
2 Jul 50 - Inducted into 102nd Unit (第一0二人泯軍部隊) at PURYONG (富寧). Departed same day for front by train.
5 Jul 50 - Crossed 38° parallel.
16 Jul 50 - Arrived at KUNSAN (群山) where PW was hospitalized.
27 Jul 50 - Discharged from hospital and assigned to 1st Bn, 2nd volunteer Ind Regt as Bn Supply Officer. (PW did not know the whereabouts of the 2nd Ind Regt, 102nd Unit).
20 Aug 50 - 2nd Vol Ind Regt remained in KUNSAN until 20 Aug 50. 1st Bn moved to a point 8 km W pf KUNSAN. Due to heavy air attacks, 2nd, 3rd Bn, 102nd Unit also moved outside of KUNSAN.
25 Sep 50 - Remained there until 25 Sep 50, when orders came from Regt CO to disband and every man for himself. PW, with the intention of returning to North KOREA, departed KUNSAN alone. Enroute he met stragglers from other units and they all made their way to POUN. In the hills near POUN, this group, now numbering 30 men, was fired on by ROK troops. Three were killed and the rest captured 3 Oct 50.

Unit History: of 2nd Vol Ind Regt (第二義勇軍獨立聯隊)
To the best of PW’s knowledge, 1st Bn, 2nd Vol Ind Regt was composed of men recruited in and around KUNSAN, with the exception of the Bn CO and the PW who was from North KOREA. For this reason PW believed that all of the personnel, numbering 520 men, have returned to their homes after receiving orders to disband.
The whereabouts of the Bn CO was not known, except that he was called to a meeting in CHONJU on 20 Sep 50.
Nothing was known of the other two battalions.

Unit History of 102nd Unit:
According to hearsay, the personnel of this unit, which numbered 200 officers and EM, were replacements for an unknown combat unit (16 Jul 50).
