NARRATIVE:
This officer (source) was taken prisoner on 11 September 1950, in the vicinity of WAEGWAN. He was interrogated by a NK Col CHOI. Col CHOI was quiet, timid, very slim, with a large nose and thing black moustache. He was about 5'1". Source was forced to make tow speeches over aloud-speaker system to UN Forces in the front lines. The speeches were canned and told of the good treatment received by UN PW’s etc. The equipment used for these speeches was American made, and was marked “USIS”. Source saw several signed propaganda speeches by American PW’s. One was signed by a 2nd Lt Glambey - 097442, and another by Maj Larnton W. Newton, Commanding Officer of 3rd Bn, 34 Inf.
The group handling the propaganda broadcasts seemed to operate independently and consisted of a 1st Lt in charge, two girls and an engineer named KIM DON MO who spoke good English.
On the night before he was found by US troops, source was tied to a tree by a NK 1st Lt and shot four times with a pistol at a range of four or five feet. He was left for dead by the North Koreans.

NARRATIVE:
This soldier (source) was interrogated at a Corps Hdqs by four persons whom he took to be Russians. One was in NK uniform and the rest were in civilian clothes. They used an interpreter and asked the prisoner immediate tactical questions. They were well informed on the tactical situation. They had US whiskey and cigarettes. They questioned source for about twenty (20) minutes. Source did not know location of place where the questioning took place. An interpreter told source that Gen Dean was alive and was in Seoul.
Source was shot along with thirteen others by a NK firing squad. He was left for dead, and was found by US forces.
