2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was very observant and answered all questions without hesitation. Possessed good memory.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
1 Jul 46 - Volunteered for the NKPA in P'YONGYANG (平壤). Trained 1 month.
1 Aug 46 - Transferred to SONGJIN (城津) and performed guard duty. 65 men were assigned to guard four RR tunnels between SONGJIN and MANCH'UN (晩春). Tunnels were each 500 to 600 meters long.
24 Jun 50 - PW was transferred to YONCH'ON (漣川) as a fuel (gas) supply officer. Maintained 40 ZIS-150 and ZIS-151 trucks, (31 x ZIS-150, 9 x ZIS-151). Fuel consumption per day for 40 vehicles was 560 gallons.
The 4th Div Arty Regt advanced to SEOUL and fought all the way to TAEJON (大田). PW and his gas supply unit remained in SEOUL for a week with 1,500 gallons of gas.
O/a 7 Jul 50 - Received a message that the 4th Div Arty Regt was in need of fuel supply immediately. PW dispatched 2 trucks with 15 drums each. Travelled only during the night due to air attacks.
20 Jul 50 - 2 trucks with 30 drums arrived in TAEJON. Distributed gasoline and 4th Div started to advance south to HYOPCH'ON (陜川), their primary objective.
1 Aug 50 - Arrived SINBAN-Ni (新反里) and engaged UN Forces for a month and a half. Supply line was cut off by US air interdiction.
1 Sep 50 - 4th Div Arty Regt received 700-800 replacements. Most of the replacements were S Koreans without training. The 4th Div lost 800 men out of original 1200.
24 Sep 50 - PW tried to bring 15 men and surrender. During the night 12 men escaped with another Sr Lt.
29 Sep 50 - PW brought two men from his unit and surrendered to the ROK 15th Regt in KOUN-Ni (高隱里).

Personalities:
Ⅰ Corps CG 1- LEE, Kwon Mu (李權武); Maj Gen; Age 35. Prior to 45 served in Chinese 8th Route Army. Also lived in RUSSIA. Speaks Russian fluently and was the original Div CG when the Div was organized in Aug 48. O/a Sep 50, promoted to Ⅰ Corps CG.
4th Div Arty Regt CO - CHONG, Tu Ho (鄭斗鎬); Maj Age 26. Graduated of P'YONGYANG No 1 OCS. 25 Aug 50, deserted organization.
16th Regt CO - CHANG In Dok (張仁德); Col; Age about 35. Served in Chinese 8th Route Army and Russian Army since he was 16 years old. Speaks and writes Russian fluently. Holds a permanent rank of M/Sgt in Soviet Army.

Supply:
An undetermined number of storage tanks are located in YONGSONG (龍城), 16 km NE of P'YONGYANG. The size of the tanks is approx 20 meters in diameter and 40 meter long. The area is restricted to those authorized by the Defense Ministry. PW believes that the source of fuel supply is RUSSIA but refined in MANCHURIA.
