PW and one EM were separated from their unit on 24 SEP 50; they voluntarily surrendered to South Korean Police on 26 SEP 50.
PW was cooperative, but info was limited to only his specialized field (sig).
T/O & E AND STRENGTH:3rd Div (Code no 395) composed of 3 Inf Regt, (1) Arty Regt, Signal Bn (Code No. 359), Eng Bn, Medical Bn, RCN Co, Guard Plt, 45 mm AT Bn, SU-Bn, & Transport Co.
Signal Bn composed of 3 Companies, 1st Co dealt with wireless, and motorcycle messengers.
2nd Co handled telephone.
Signal NCO training Co, composed of two plts.
EQUIPMENT & AMMO: (1) M1891/30 30 (38 rds per)
(2) SMG 1 (144 rds per)
(3) NAGANT REVOLVER 2 (7 rds per)
(4) Russian (portable) Wireless set 42-43 6

These sets also had telephone receiver on the top left hand corner.
Range of portable set: 8 Km to 16 Km.
Messages are received in code (using International Morse Code) and were diciphered at the G-2 Section of the Div Hqs.
Standard Korean telegraph morse code was used in routine messages.
Messages pass from Regts to Div.
