KIM, Ung replaced Lt Gen KANG, Kun who was killed o/a 8 Sep 50 when his automobile ran over a landmine several kilometers south of SEOUL.
US PW's:Observed 40 US PW's on the street at ANSONG o/a 3 Jul 50. PW heard that they would be sent to a PW Camp at PYONGYANG (exact location unknown).
Observed 2 US PW's at HWANGGAN on the road o/a 10 Aug 50.
Observed 5 US PW's at PUGONG NI on the road o/a 13 Sep 50.
GENERAL INFORMATION:One (1) Soviet advisor joined the 2nd Div Hq at HWANGGAN o/a 10 Aug 50. Two (2) more Soviet advisors joined the Div at IBANGMYON on 1 Sep 50. All three (3) advisors left the Div by "jeep" on 2 Sep 50.
PW believes the NKPA has no reserve divisions in NORTH KOREA and that NORTH KOREA would put up no effective resistance if the UN forces were to attack north of the 38th parallel.
