Cooperative. Information seems reliable although limited.
T/O & E AND STRENGTH:Department of National Defense composed of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns. Each Bn composed of one (1) motor maintenance Co. Each Co had two (2) platoons.

Being specialists, these were the only weapons within the unit. Above equipment was confiscated by ROK troops on 29 Sep 50.

b. Equipment: M1 rifle (US), model 99 rifle, US carbines Approx 200 x trucks (ZIS-5, GAZ-o1)
Approx 30 x trucks remained in usable condition. These trucks were located in CHOCH'IWON on 29 Sep 50.
LOCATION & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:1st Bn (921 Unit) retreated to TAEJON from KUMCHON on 26 Sep 50.
About 40 - 50 trucks reached TAEJON.
After 26 Sep 50, the 1st Bn dispersed in TAEJON.
Approx 30 trucks proceeded to CHOCH'IWON on 26 Sep 50.
These trucks only carried troops without equipment.
The Dept of National Defense Hq (保衛組) was located approx 2 Km west of Seoul RR Station, Aug 50.
All retreating units were to travel through TAEBAK SAN to the 38th.
PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted on 30 Oct 48 at HAMHUNG.
PW was a truck driver for NCO Training School, 3rd Div from 30 Oct 48 to 9 Mar 50. Attended 3 months OCS (motors course) at KAECHON between 9 Mar 50 and 8 Jun 50.
Upon completion he received his commission as 2nd Lt and assigned to 1st Bn, Dept of Nat'l Defense.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:On 24 Sep 50, ammunition dumps were located in two tunnels approx 6 Km N of KUMCH'ON.
PW's 1st Bn trucks (exact number unknown) hauled ammunition from this point to various units.
US PsW:Observed approx 50 US PsW at Seoul RR Station o/a 11 Aug 50. (Destination unknown.)
