Evaluation:
Cooperative, limited information.

T/O of PW’s Unit:
10th Div consisted of 3 Regt; 29th Regt (Code 751). Two others unknown.
29th Regt consisted of 3 rifle battalions. one 45-mm AT Gun Co, one 76-mm Co, one 120-mm Co. Number of men and equipment unknown.
2nd Bn consisted of 3 rifle companies one mortar company, one HMG company, one medical platoon and one signal platoon.
The Signal Platoon consisted of 2 squads. One squad had 7-8 men, Squad leaders and men carried rifles and platoon leader had pistols. Two field telephones and wire (amount unknown) were assigned to each squad.
One Rifle Co consisted of 3 platoons, 1 rifle platoon had 4 squads. Each squad consisted of 9 men who were equipped with Rifles. Squad leader, PPsh Submachine guns, Asst squad leaders DP LMGs and each man carried 2 grenades.

Disposition of Above Units:
Informant knew only 2nd Bn of 29th Regt, which crossed NAKTONG River immediately E of WAEGWAN, 11 Aug 50.

Personal and Unit History:
Inducted 2 May 50 at SUKCH’ON. Trained as rifleman at SUKCH’ON one month and also at P’YONGYANG (HEIJO) one month.
2nd Bn of 29th Regt departed P’YONGYANG 25 Jul 50 - railroad arrived CHONAN 29 Jul 50. Departed CHONAN 29 Jul - marched - arrived WAEGWAN via TAEJON 8 Aug 50. 2nd Bn camped on a mountain for 2 days and crossed NAKTONG River at night.
Informant and another PW were captured by US troops 12 Aug 50.

Estimated Strength of Above Units:
Informant stated that about 3/4 of 2nd Bn of 29th Regt were casualties at time of capture 12 Aug 50. No information on entire units.

Personalities:
2nd Bn CO - KIM, KI CH’OL (김기철)

Artillery:
Informant observed the following at WAEGWAN on 11 Aug 50: 45-mm AT Guns, 76-mm Guns, 120-mm Guns under the Regt. Before the unit crossed the NAKTONG River. Number of aforementioned weapons was not known.

Food and Ammunition Supplies:
Ammunition was brought by train, however when the unit passed through mountains, they used ox carts. Source of ammunition supply was SEOUL.
Food was supplied by farmers and people living in towns and villages through which the unit passed.

Replacements:
No Replacements brought from other units. However, there was always one platoon of replacements immediately behind the first line.
Wounded troops were evacuated to rear. After they were treated they were sent back to their original units. If their units were winning in battle, these wounded received long periods of rest.

Enemy Intentions:
Informant received an order not to surrender because the S. Korean Army shot all prisoners. Last objective of informants unit was CHONG-DO via T’AEGU at time of capture, 12 Aug 50.

US PW's:
Informant read in a newspaper about US PsW (number unknown) held in N. Korea. It stated that US PsW will be kept alive so that the N. Koreans may secure reparations upon war’s conclusion. This nesw was dated 28 Jun 50 from P’YONGYANG.

S. Korean Sentiments:
N. Korean troops were welcomed mostly by laborers and farmers in towns and villages. These people wanted to be on the winning side.
