Regt composed of 4 motorcycle battalions, 1 x 45-mm AT Gun Bn, 1 x 122-mm Howitzer Bn, 1 Armored Car Bn, 1 Engr Co, 1 Medical Plt, and 1 Transportation Plt.
One motorcycle battalion composed of 3 motorcycle companies, 1 x 82-mm Mortar Co, 1 HMG Co, a Technical Plt, and 1 Transportation Plt.

The Armored Car Bn had approx 60 BA-64 which had solid rubber tries and body plating was about 12-mm thick. Almost all destroyed by 12 Aug 50 by US planes.
Function of 603rd Independent Motorcycle Regt is to act as a mobile reserve unit. Hqs of this organization is at P’YONGYANG, where orders are directed to individual battalions for missions with various divisions and regiments.

Disposition of Above Units:
Hqs of 603rd Regt located at 40 km NW of CHINJU on 12 Aug 50.
3rd Bn Hqs was location approx 6 km NE of KOSONG on 12 Aug 50.
Disposition of other units unknown.

Estimated Strength of Above Units:
603rd Regt - T/O strength approx 1,500 men - present strength unknown.
3rd Bn T/O strength approx 450 men - present strength 100 men
4th Bn T/O strength approx 450 men - present strength 230 men
HMG Co of 3rd Bn - T/O strength approx 60 men - present strength unknown. 12 x M1910 Sokorov Mount HMGs.
2nd Plt - T/O strength 19 men. 4 x HMGs.
4th Sqd - T/O strength 4 men. 1 x HMGs.
The 3rd and 4th Bns had by 12 Aug 50, suffered heavy losses in men and equipment due to US aircraft and artillery.

Observed 45-mm AT Guns and 122-mm Howitzers in the Regt, however the number and location of guns unknown.

Food and Ammunition Supplies:
Food and ammunition of the Regt were transported by trucks and motorcycles. After passing 38° parallel, food was obtained from occupied towns and villages.
3rd Bn supply line was out off by US planes prior to 12 Aug 50.
PW stated that about 2,500 rounds of ammunition were issued to each HMG.

Replacements:
No replacements received.
Wounded personnel were sent to the rear for medical treatment. Upon completion of medical treatment, they were returned to their original units.

Enemy Intentions:
Last objective of the unit was CHINGONG-NI (1140.9-1340.8) via KOSONG, where the unit was to protect the coast line from any amphibious landings of US troops.

Morale:
The morale of PW’s unit was very low due to constant US air attacks.

Observed about 6 US PW’s who were marching with one of NK Army platoons at CHONGJU (1040.8-1530.0) on 15 Jul 50.

Additional Information:
PW stated that the Hqs of NK Army, commanded by CH’OE YU WON (   ), marshall was located within the Capitol Bldg at P’YONGYANG. (Location of the building unknown).
