Inducted 14 Apr 50 at MUNCH’ON (文川). Received 15 days basic inf training at MUNCH’ON.

On 17 Aug 50 after his company went into action he dropped behind and hid. About 1000 hrs the ROK 10th Regt captured him.

Original Company - 150 men, present 80 men. 4 plts in a Co. 3 sqds in a plt. Squad 10 men, present 2 or 3 men. PPsh M1941 submachine gun - sqd ldr. 2 x DP LMG per plt - present only one. Riflemen type 99 Jap and M1891/30 rifles, 100 rounds, 4 grenades. Officer - TOKAREV pistol. The two company runners - US carbine, 60 rounds. 6 x water cooled MG in the Bn, 6 x 82mm Mortar in the Bn, 12 x 60mm Mortar in the Bn. 6 x 45mm AT guns with Regt, present 4.

Armor:
PW saw 2 x SU 76’s near area of capture.

Artillery:
2 x 76mm guns were seen near area of capture.

Vehicles:
20 x new & old GAZ-51 trucks were seen near area of capture. Believed still in the hands of NK.

Supplies:
Received 2 meals a day. Food was taken from farm villages. No ammunition came from the rear. Source of supply unknown.

Enemy Intentions:
Mission was to take P’OHANG DONG. On the left of the 2nd Regt there was the 1st Regt - on the right the sea. PW observed the 5th Div Arty shelling the P’OHANG DONG airfield.
