Departed YONGJU - 26 Jul 50 - on foot - arrived ANDONG - unknown date. Slept overnight - travelled on foot ot P’OHANG-DONG and then went to KUCHIDONG. Date of arrival and departure are unknown. Places passed through are unknown.

17 Aug 50 while the 8th Co was marching up a draw they were fired upon by ROK troops. After firing ceased, PW came out and surrendered. In this skirmish, 15 man of the company were killed and only the PW was captured.
At time of capture PW was not armed and was carrying 10 liters of rice which was two meals for the 39 men of the company.

Foreign Elements:
PW stated that out of the 39 men in the company, 30 of the men were CCF trained Koreans. Although PW knows there are more CCF trained men in the battalion, he does no know their numbers.

Weapons and Personnel:
8th Co had 39 men at time of capture. Rifleman armed with M1891/30 rifle, M1930 Carbine, American Carbines, 60 to 100 rounds, and 2 grenades.
1 x M1946 LMG in company.
PW does not know the strength of unit other then company, before he was captured.

Armor:
On the night of 16 Aug 50, PW observed 2 tanks, type unknown, 4 km E of KUCHIDONG parked along the road with 20 soldiers around the tanks and 50 men sleeping besides the road. The tanks were covered with canvas.

Artillery:
Observed 4 - 5 artillery pieces along the road to KUCHIDONG 4 km E of KUCHIDONG on 16 Aug 50, and 4 - 5 trucks parked along the road with the tanks and artillery pieces. Due to darkness the type of artillery was unknown.

Supplies:
The PW stated that rice was brought to the 8th Co by truck every day at different hours. The company received 50 to 100 liters of rice. Usually 100 liters of rice lasted 3 days by serving 2 meals a day. If by serving 2 meals a day for 3 days, there is extra rice, the extra rice is given to other companies without food supplies. PW does not know where rice supply came from.

Enemy Intentions:
PW stated objective of the 8th Co was YONGHON. Further objective unknown.
