Assessment:
PW was of low intelligence. Very limited information.

Military History:
Date inducted: 17 Mar 49 at NAMCH’ON (南川) (400 conscripts)
Training: 230 out of the 400 assigned to 1st Div. Remainder assigned to 2nd Div. Whereabouts of 2nd Div at this time unknown, PW assigned to the 3rd Regt, 3rd Bn Ration Breakdown Platoon. Bulk of the food handled by this platoons was rice. Rife received from regiments, was cooked by this platoon, then distributed to companies. No training received.
Tactical Movement: 3rd Regt arrived PW’s place of captured via SEOUL, CH’UNGJU (忠州), MUNG’YONG (聞慶). 3rd Bn of 3rd Regt was down to approx 450 men at time of capture. Supply shortage, such as small arms ammunition, mortar shells and food became very acute one week prior to capture due to increased UN aerial attacks. No replacements received by 3rd Bn since start of war.

Weapons and Personnel:
Ration Breakdown Section - composed of one Jr Lt and 11 EM. Weapons - Plt ldr armed with M1895 NAGANT revolver, EM armed with M1891/30 rifles.

Armor:
Observed two T-34/85 medium tanks at MUNG’YONG o/a 15 2130 Aug 50.

Supplies:
At present approx 600 grams of rice is available per man. Rice is hauled to battalion from regiment by truck (one truck per Bn).
