Evaluation:
PW cooperative, however, due to his short army service, he only had limited information.
PW insisted that the was captured at AMGONG-NI, arriving at KYONGJU (1110-1430) after 30 minutes ride upon capture.

Inducted on 4 Jul 50, at WONSAN. Did not receive any training.
Departed YOJU - 21 Jul on foot - arrived - CH’UNGJU - 22 Jul 50.
Departed WONSAN - 16 Jul - by rail - arrived YOJU - 20 Jul 50.
Departed CH’UNGJU - 23 Jul on foot - arrived TANYANG - 23 Jul 50.

While his squad was advancing under small arm fire of the ROK 1st Regt, aircraft suddenly appeared and strafed them. Men in his squad scattered. PW stayed in position and gave up to ROK troops, 15 1600 K Aug 50.

Mortar Co - 40 men.
3rd Platoon - 15 - 16 men. 2 squads in each platoon. 6 or 7 men in each squad.
4 x 60-mm Mortars in company. 25 rounds per mortar.
T/O was 2 mortars each platoon however, at time of capture company was understrength.
1st Platoon - 1 mortar
2nd Platoon - 1 mortar
3rd Platoon - 2 mortars
Squad leader carried M1944 Carbine, all others no weapons.
PW had one Mortar with him at time of capture.
16 Aug 50, he heard from a PW who was in the 1st Bn that his battalion was practically annihilated and that the 3rd Bn was relieving the 1st Bn.
PW stated that there were 2 infantry companies, 1 HMG Co and 1 Mortar Co in his Bn. No other information.

Armor:
3 tanks were seen at ANDONG (1160-1520) 2 Aug 50. PW was not able to distinguish the type because of darkness.

Artillery:
5 x 76-mm Guns were seen at ANDONG on or about 1 Aug 50.

Vehicles:
Unknown number of old GAZ-51 and YAG-4 trucks at ANDONG on or about 1 Aug 50.

Supplies:
PW stated that there were 25 mortar rounds in his squad at ANDONG. No additional rounds were received up to his capture. The only thing he heard was that if all the rounds were used they would receive more. Source unknown.
Received two meals a day. Food were usually obtained from farm villages. No food came from the rear.

Enemy Intentions:
PW stated that his unit left ANDONG to take P’OHANG-DONG. Before he knew it, his unit was at ANDONG (安東) below P’OHANG-DONG. Reason was unknown.

Miscellaneous Information:
PW stated that 500- 600 recruits (including PW) were placed in the 7th Div at ANDONG.
PW heard that the 5th Div was coming down the E coast.
