2. T/O OF PW’S UNIT:
15th Div (code 775) was composed of the 45th (code 778 APO 3720), 48th and 50th Rifle Regt’s, an Artillery Regt (approx 1100 men, 12 x 120 mm howitzers, 24 x 76 mm field guns and trucks to pull the pieces), a SP Gun Bn (16 x SU 76), a 45 mm AT Gun Bn, a Medical Bn, an Engineer Bn, a Signal Bn, an NCO Training Bn, and a Recon Co and a Transportation Co (approx 30 trucks).
Div Hq was composed of the Staff Section, I & E Section, Artillery Section, Intendance Section, J. A. Section and a PM Section. The Political Police Section was attached to Hqs but received orders from Ministry of Interior. The Staff Section was composed of the Tactical, Recon, Signal, Administrative, Officer personnel and EM personnel sections.
45th Rifle Regt was composed of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Rifle Bns, a SMG Co (approx 120 men armed with SMG’s), a 76 mm Artillery Co (approx 90 men, 4 x 76 mm howitzers drawn by horses) a 120 mm Mortar Co (approx 100 men, 6 x 120 mm mortars drawn by trucks), 46 mm AT Gun Co (approx 90 men, 4 x 45 mm AT Gun drawn by horses), a Medical Co, a Signal Co (a wireless plt, a wire plt, and staff plt), a Transportation Co (40 men, 4 trucks), a Recon Plt (40 men), a Guard Co (40 men), and AA-MG Plt (30 men; 4 x 12.7 mm DSHK M1938 AA MG), an Engineer Plt, a Veterinary Section, and a Ordnance Section.
Regt Hq’s was composed of the Staff, I & E, Artillery, Intendance, and Political Police Sections. (Political Police Section was only attached to the unit and received its orders directly from Divisional Political Police Section.)
Staff Section was composed of the Tactical, Signal, Recon, Engineer, Officer Personnel, EM Personnel, and Medical Sections.
Each Rifle Bn was composed of three (3) Rifle Co’s (each composed of a rifle plt and a HMG plt: a total of 150 men. Arms included 2 x HMG’s, 12 x LMG’s, 12 x SMG’s, and unknown number of rifles), a Mortar Co (approx 90 men; 9 x 82 mm Mortars), a HMG Co, a 45 mm AT Gun Plt (30 men, 2 x 45 mm AT Guns), a AT Rifle Plt (approx 20 men), a Signal Plt, a Supply Plt, and a Medical Plt.

3. DISPOSITION OF ABOVE UNITS:
15th Div Hq as of 4 Sep 50, was located in HAP TONG NI. During the day, the Hq personnel hid in the hills and at night returned to the village. The Div Arty and SP Gun Bn were located 3 kms S of HAPTONG NI.
45th, 48th and 50th Rifle Regts located 13 km S of HAPTONG NI DONG. 50th Regt attacking along the road leading from HAPTONG Nl to YONGCHON. 45th Regt located to the W and 48th Regt to the E of the 50th Regt.

6. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 26 Oct 48 at HAEJU.
Received training with the 1200 unit (approx a Regt directly under the Ministry of Defense) until March 49.
Transferred to Intendance branch of the NKA, GHQ.
Commissioned as officer after passing examination on May 49.
Transferred to 3rd Bn, 4th Independent Inf Brig located at CHINNAMPO during May 1949.
Transferred to # 7 Branch of the 3rd People’s Youth Training Center located in RAJIN during March 1950. On 1 June 50, the # 7 Branch of 3rd People's Youth Training Center was renamed as 45th Rifle Regt, 15th Division.
On 22 June 50, the 45th Rifle Regt entrained for KUMHWA, arriving on 25 June 50.
Departed KUMHWA on 26 Jun 50 and marched South passing through CHINCHON, HONGCHON, YOJU (fought a battle while crossing HAN River), CHANGHOWON NI, MUGUNG NI (ambushed by ROK Forces and 48th Regt suffered heavy losses), UMSONG, KOESAN, PONWAN SAN (ambushed by ROK Forces and 48th Regt suffered 500 casualties), HWARYONGJANG, CHUPPUNG RYON (秋風嶺), KUMCHON, SONSAN, HWANGI DONG, NAKSONG DONG, TABU DONG (45th Regt suffered over 700 casualty), KUNWI, UISONG, KUSAN DONG, TOPHYON DONG, to HAPTONG NI.
Informant captured 12 km S of HAPTONG NI by ROK Forces.

7. ARMOR:
Three (3) SU-76 remaining in the SP Bun Bn of 15th Div, 4 Sep 50: observed near HAPDONG NI. Others were destroyed by air strikes and land mines.

8. ARTILLERY:
8 x 120 mm howizers and 15 x 76 mm field guns of the Arty Regt, 15th Div were still with the unit near HAPTONG NI on 4 Sep 50.

9. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLY:
Food confiscated from stores of farmers. Food was generally insufficient.
Hearsay: Ammo transported by truck from SEOUL to either TAEJON or ANDONG. From there it was transported by trucks to each division area. From division area it was transported by ox-carts or S Koreans with A-frames to the front.

10. REPLACEMENTS:
Approx 400 N Koreans joined the 45th Regt at HAPDONG NI o/a 30 Aug 50.
Hearsay: Large number of replacements from SEOUL Will join the unit in the near future.
Wounded personnel were taken to the rear through regular channels. After recovery, they rejoined their original unit.
When the CO orders a retreat, he always designates the reassembly area.

11. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
The objective of 15th Div was TAEGU via YONGCHON.

12. MORALE:
At first the morale was very high due to relatively easy victories; but at present, it was sagging due to air strikes, meager supplies, stiffening opposition and lack of proper arms.

13. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hearsay: N Korean, Army consisted of the I, II, and III Corps. II Corp was commanded by "2 star" general KIM, Mu Jung (金武亭) with the 2nd, 15th Div and other unknown divisions. Last known location or II Corp was CHUNGJU, 15 Aug 50.
 I Corp located in ANDONG 23 Aug 50.
During the period from 20 Aug 50 to time of capture, informant drew 9,000,000 S Korean Won from division finance for use by the 45th Regt. Money was used for buying foodstuffs.

14. REMARKS:
PW seems sincere and reliable.
