Limited information due to short period of military service. Information felt unreliable.

Military History:
Inducted 21 Jul 50 at SARIWON (沙里院). 15 days training as rifleman. Departed SARIWON with 600 conscripts 4 Aug 50 by train - arrived at SEOUL 10 Aug 50. Departed SEOUL 10 Aug 50 - marched - arrived UMSONG (陰城) D/U, passed through KOESAN (槐山), MUN'GYONG (聞慶), HAMCH'ANG (咸昌), SANGJU (尙州) and arrived with the 600 men SONSAN (善山) D/U.
600 replacements crossed the NAKTONG River D/U. After crossing the NAKTONG River the 600 replacements were assigned to various units. 29 Aug 50, PW and approximately 30 others were assigned to the 7th Co, 3rd Bn. PW and the 30 men were each issued a rifle, 300 rounds, 2 grenades. PW stated he does not know where the rest of the replacements were assigned, 29 Aug 50 the 7th Co advanced to CHON-DONG and dug defensive positions, 31 Aug 50 at sundown the 7th Co was shelled and received small arms fire. PW tried to retreat and was threatened by his plt ldr with a pistol so he took cover. He was surprised to see the others retreat. PW was captured. At time of capture, PW was armed with rifle (type unknown), 300 rounds, and 2 grenades.

Weapons and Personnel (As of 29 Aug 50):
7th Co - 80 men, 3rd Plt - 30 men, 1st Sqd - 6 men, riflemen were armed with M1891/30 rifles, 300 rounds, 2 grenades. Squad leaders with PPsh SMG, asst squad leader with rifles.

Armor:
Negative.

Artillery:
PW stated he observed 3 unknown type artillery pieces parked and camouflaged with tree branches along the road 5 km north of CHON-DONG 28 Aug 50. Nam of place artillery located is unknown. He observed about 6 men near the artillery pieces.

Vehicles:
Negative.

Supplies:
Rice was served once a day and nothing else. PW does not know where food came from. Received only one issue of ammunition and that was when he was issued his rifle 29 Aug 50.

Enemy Intentions:
The PW stated that on 29 Aug 50 the Company Commander made a speech telling the company that on 31 1900 Aug 50, the company with the rest of the 1st Div was to attack and drive into T'AEGU with the support of tanks, artillery and aircraft. PW thinks this was said to build the morale of the troops. No further information.
