3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
8 Jul 50 - Inducted at HAEJU (海州). Two weeks basic training with recently activated 2nd Bn in HAEJU. Majority recent conscripts, strength, 600. Parent organization undisclosed at this time. PW received instruction on administering medical aid to battle casualties. Assigned to 1st Plt as a medical aidman.
28 Jul 50 - 2rd Bn departed by train. PW informed that 2nd Bn was part of 3rd Regt, 7th Div; however movements of units other than his battalion unknown. PW had never heard of the existence of the 1st or the 2nd Regt.
31 Jul 50 - 2rd Bn arrived KAESONG (開城). Trip was delayed due to the fact that train was forced to remain in a concrete tunnel (location, unknown), length 12 coaches, for two days and a night. Night of 30 Jul 50, said tunnel was target for UN medium bombers, however, target was completely missed in two (2) different attacks. No flare used by bombers (opinion).
O/a 22 Aug 50 - 2nd Bn marched through a city which according to officers, was CHINJU. Bn marched all the way, from KAESONG. PW uncertain of route south however, recalls following: SEOUL, SUWON (水原), TAEJON, MUJU (武州).
2 Sep 50 - 2nd Bn attacked toward MASAN from a ridge line somewhere S (?) of HAMAN. PW lagged behind am was captured by US infantrymen in a farmhouse. No tanks or SP Guns observed in the CHINJU (晉州) Sector.
Last Know Composition of Unit:
2m Co - 6o men. No replacements received by 2m Co since its activation.
