Surrendered to the U.S. Forces voluntarily when he was sent to call his officers.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
Inducted 12 Jul 49 at MUNAKTON and departed for SINUIJU. Troops trained 9 months here. PW injured his leg, so he worked in the mess hall while the troops trained. After 9 months of training, 1200 troops departed for SEOUL. Place names and dates unknown after departed SEOUL.

Unit organization and strength:
7th Division (code No. 34) was composed of 4 Regiments, numbered from 1 to 4. 1st Battalion was composed of 4 rifle companies. Each company was equipped with two (2) 120 mm M-1943 mortars. 1st Regiment was composed of 4 Battalions numbered from 1 to 4. The 7th Division was also called the TAE SAN Unit. 2nd Company was composed of 4 platoons. Four (4) DP LMG (210 rounds of ammo) in each platoon. Squad loader equipped with PPsh Tommy Gun and 140 rounds ammo. Troops carried M-1891/30 Rifle with 100 rounds of ammo.

Disposition of unit:
7th Division Headquarters was located in the mountains approximately 8 km north of HAMAN.

Observed 3 SU 100’s (camouflaged with bamboo) 32 Km SW of HAMAN, headed for HAMAN.

Ammo supply:
On 1 Sep 50, (at the same point where the SU 100's were seen) PW observed six (6) trucks (US 2½ ton) loaded with 106 mm ammo, one (1) truck (215- 151) loaded with 120 mm, one (1) truck (215-151) with 45 mm, and 3 trucks (Japanese make) loaded with 100 mm AT ammo, and two Russian make jeeps and 2 Japanese trucks loaded with rifle ammo. These vehicles (all camouflaged with bamboo) were stopped awaiting the repair of roads. Destination believed to be HAMAN.

Morale:
Morale very low in PW's unit, many troops wanted to surrender to UN troops. Ammo was low and casualties were great.

Enemy intention:
7th Division’s objective was PUSAN.
