Reliability - Fair.
a. Description of Flags:
Size: Approx 2 square feet. Color: One plain red, other plain white. Design: None.
b. Use of Flags:
The same in all units. Unit used flag signal to determine whether force encountered is friendly force or enemy force during daylight hours. Signal flags are used by unit commander.
c. Manuals:
There is a sheet of paper used by his company commander when waving the flag. He believes that the paper is issued by CCF highest commander in KOREA.
d. Other Equipment:
Flashlight is used at night.
e. Use of Flags at Night:
Flag system used in daylight only.
f. Standardization of System:
Believes the flag system is standardized in all command areas.
g. Personnel Handling Flags:
Unit commanders such as company commander, battalion commander, wave the flag.
