2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative. Reliability - Fair.

3. SIGNAL FLAGS:
a. Description of Flags:
The 15th Div, 517th Self Propelled Gun Bn (attached) used flags 15cm X 20cm in size. Color of flag: solid red and white.

b. Use of Flags:
There was a signal for starting vehicles, to start moving, to stop, to increase and decrease speed, prepare for action, and fire orders. Signals were changed at the discretion of the unit commander. The unit commander in the leading vehicle waves the flag.

2. ASSESSMENT:
Reliability - Fair.

3. SIGNAL FLAGS:
a. Description of Flags:
Size of signal flag was 40cm X 25cm. Three different colors used. Red, blue and white.

b. Use of Flags:
The signal flags were used within the communication (telephone) platoon, but only during the training period. They have not been used at the front.
Before a telephone platoon goes out to field training, the platoon leader selects two flags; red and blue, red and white or blue and white, and instructs the men as to their meaning. The flags were used when laying telephone wire in the field and conveyed the following orders:
(1) Stop laying at present position and check all wires.
(2) Carry on with laying.

c. Training:
Did not receive or hear of any special training of flag signals given by the NKA. Above flag signaling method was used by PW platoon leader.

d. Manuals:
There were no manuals or regulations concerning flag signals.
