3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
11 Feb 47: Conscripted into NKA, assigned to 2nd Div, leading Bn, 1st Co, 1st Plat, 1st Sqd at NANAM (羅南) Received basic and advance training for about ten months.
Oct 47: Reassigned to 2nd Div, 6th Regt, 3rd Bn, 7th Co, 3rd Plat, 1st Sqd as Sqd Ldr. Promoted to Sgt 7 Nov 47. Trained conscripts for about 2 years.
Apr 49: 6th Regt moved to WONSAN (元山) by train. 6th Regt redesignated 8th Regt of 3rd Div.
15 May 49: Promoted to Sr Sgt. Assigned to 9th Co, 1st Plat as Asst Plat Ldr.
18 Mar 50: Reassigned to 10th Div, 27th Regt, 2nd Bn, 6th Co at SUKCH'ON (肅川), KOREA. Promoted to M/Sgt.
25 Jul 50: 27th Regt departed SUKCH’ON (肅川) for SONGJU (星州) via YONDUNGP’O (永登浦), TAEJON (太田) and MUJU (茂朱).
10 Sep 50: 27th Regt arrived SONGJU (星州) and engaged UN Forces. Received many casualties.
24 Oct 50: 27th Regt retreated N toward friendly area with the wounded.
15 Nov 50: Arrived 32 km N of YANGGU (楊口). 10th Div assembled and was given replacements. Transferred to 25th Regt, 3rd Bn, 7th Co, as supply sgt.
3 Dec 50: 25th Regt captured YANGGU (楊口).
4 Jan 51: 25th Regt captured CH’UNCHON (春川). Retreated due to heavy ROK Arty fire.
14 Jan 51: Arrived YANGGU (楊口). Received reinforcements as once Received orders to capture ANDONG (安東).
20 Jan 51: 25th Regt departed YANGGU (楊口) for ANDONG (安東).
2 Feb 51: Captured by ROK troops.

c. Unit History:
10th Div was originally organized at SUKCH'ON (肅川), KOREA in Jan 50. It consisted of 25th, 27th and 29th Regt and one Arty Regt; estimated strength 14,000. In Dec 50, due to losses of men in retreat, 10th Div received replacements at YANGGU (楊口), KOREA. As of 2 Feb 51, 10th Div consisted of three Inf Regt and one Arty Regt plus other attached units (Engr Bn, Trans Bn, LDG Bn (sic), Recon Co and Guard Co).

Usually while marching, Div CP, Regt Hq and Bn Hq used officers as messengers. Radios were Russian made.

g. Intentions:
10th Div was to attack ANDONG (安東), KOREA 2 Feb 51.

h. Morale:
Low, due to lack of weapons and rations.

i. Replacements:
25th Regt received 500 men 14 Jan 51 at YANGGU (楊口), KOREA. No replacements received thereafter.

j. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
No aid station nor field hospital. Wounded were carried on fellow soldiers’ backs and moved with the troops until death.

k. Supply:
Each man carried 5 days ration and 100 rounds of ammo for small arms. Weapons and shoes of the dead were collected and reissued.
