a. Chronology:
16 Aug 50: Conscripted into the Volunteer Army at SEOUL.
18 Aug 50: Departed SEOUL with 3,000 men.
15 Sep 50: Arrived SOHUNG (瑞興). Engaged in five days basic training at the Field Training Center.
20 Sep 50: Departed SOHUNG with 1,300 men.
30 Sep 50: Arrived HAEJU (海州) and assigned to Independent 97th Regt. Engaged in field training.
10 Oct 50: Started to retreat.
20 Nov 50: Arrived in the vicinity of TOKCH’ON (德川) and reassigned to the 3rd Regt, 8th Div, I Corps and departed TOKCH’ON the same day.
30 Nov 50: Arrived CHOSAN (楚山) with approx 5,000 men. Engaged in field training.
30 Dec 50: Departed CHOSAN.
20 Jan 51: Arrived SIHUNG (始興). Here, about 40 men from 2nd Co, 1st Bn, 3rd Regt caught eruptive typhus and were sent to Bn aid station. They were quarantined for a while and then sent to Regt hospital.
3 Feb 51: 2nd and 3rd Regt started to retreat to SEOUL. 1st Regt in the vicinity of SUWON (水原). Deserted his unit on the same day with four other men.
8 Feb 51: Surrendered at ANYANG (安養).

Each man carried five days ration and 200 rounds ammunition for small arms.

47th, 17th and 8th Divisions were in the vicinity of SEOUL 3 Feb 51.
h. Weapons Feared Most:
Napalm bomb.
i. Medical:
Symptom of the 40 men who caught eruptive typhus at SIHUNG (始興). High fever, chills and headache. After two or three days, rash appeared over the body.
