a. Chronology:
8 Jul 50 - 30 Aug 50: Conscripted into NK Army at ANDONG (安東) and assigned to Rear Unit (80 men), 1st Regt, 8th Div. While 8th Div was in combat, guarded the supplies left behind by 1st Regt.
Nov 50: 8th Div retreated to CH’OSAN(楚山) for reassignment. Promoted to Sgt and assigned as squad leader of 3rd Sqd, 3rd Plat, HMG Co, 2nd Bn, 1st Regt, 8th Div. Throughout Nov, trained in the use of the HMG.
2 Dec 50: 8th Div started its advance south.
28 Dec 50 (Sic): Arrived SEOUL, and rested for about one month.
11 Feb 51: 1st Regt of 8th Div departed SEOUL and advanced toward SUWON (水原). However, when they came to a point about 20km south of SEOUL, they were attacked by a UN Unit and the Regt annihilated.
14 Feb 51: PW platoon was separated from the others and almost all were captured at SUWON (水原).

d. Disposition:
When last seen, (11 Feb 51), 8th Div was located in SEOUL. Only the 1st Regt was in the vicinity of SUWON (水原).
e. Intentions:
1st Regt was to attack SUWON (水原) 13 Feb 51.
f. Replacements:
8th Div had their gun replacement Regt. However, PW never saw any replacements.
f. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Wounded were given first aid by aidmen and sent to a rear aid station located about 1 km behind the front line.
h. Supply:
Each men carried 5 days rations and 70 rd of ammunition. Each HMG had about 2,500 rd of ammunition.
i. Other Units:
PW saw a div strength CCF unit in SEOUL 11 Feb 51. NK, 47th Div was also seen in SEOUL 11 Feb 51.

PW saw 6 AA MG in SEOUL, near south gate (南大門), 8 Feb 51. Type 12.7mm DShk M-1938.
