a. Chronology:
14 Aug 50 - Conscripted into the “Volunteer Army” at POSONG (寶城), KOREA. Assigned to 1st Bn as Pvt.
24 Aug 50 - 1st Bn transferred to 33rd Brigade. Assigned to 1st Sqd, 3rd Plat, 82mm Mortar Co, 4th Bn, 33rd Brigade as Pvt at KWANGJU (光州).
26 Sep 50 - 33rd Brigade departed KWANGJU.
10 Nov 50 - Reassigned to 1st Sqd, 3rd Plat, 45mm AT Gun Co, 4th Bn, 1st Regt, 7th Div, V Corps as Pvt.
30 Nov 50 - V Corps arrived vicinity of P’YONGYANG.
3 Dec 50 - 7th Div arrived TAEDONG-GUN (大同郡). Reassigned to 2nd Sqd, 2nd Plat, 82mm Mortar Co, 3rd Bn, 1st Regt, 7th Div, V Corps as Cpl.
13 Dec 50 - V Corps departed TAEDONG-GUN.
10 Jan 51 - V Corps arrived HOENGSONG (橫城).
3 Feb 51 - Hospitalized with an unknown contagious disease in Div Medical Unit.
7 Feb 51 - Medical Unit, 7th Div retreated to point 10km N of HOENGSONG.
8 Feb 51 - Medical Unit surrounded and PW captured.

d. Disposition:
Heard 7th Div was to retreat to a point about 24km N of HOENGSONG. When last observed, 7th Div was at point about 10km of HOENGSONG.
e. Intentions:
V Corps was to retreat and to rest. Personnel of 38th Div were reassigned to 7th Div as replacements o/a 2 Feb 51.
As soon as V Corps is reinforced by a “CCF Mechanized Unit”, it was to launch an attack under the “4th Battle Operation” (四次計畫). Rumors among men of 7th Div was that three mechanized CCF Div’s were training at HARBIN, MANCHURIA and that these three Div’s were to assist the V Corps in attack planned for the near future. V Corps was to receive air support also.
f. Morale:
High due to the fact that 7th Div was resting and due to the above rumors.
g. Supply:
Each man carried 3 days rations and 120 rds of ammo for small arms. 160 rds of mortar shells for 4x82mm mortars.
h. Epidemics:
PW and 130 others were infected with an unknown disease o/a 20 Jan 51. Symptoms were as follows:
Chills.
Headache.
Dizzy spells.
High fever.
Diarrhea.
Coughs.
Vomiting.
