a. Chronology:
15 Aug 50: Conscripted into the volunteer army and assigned to the training center at CHADONG (■洞).
11 Sep 50: Assigned to 59th unit at ANBYON (安邊). Engaged in field training.
7 Oct 50: Started to retreat to CHOSAN (楚山).
11 Nov 50: Arrived CHOSAN. Reassigned to 1st Regt, 8th Div, I Corps. Here 8th Div was reorganized with approx 7,000 men, 2,000 of the men were from the 59th unit. Were issued arms and supplies and engaged in field training.
3 Dec 50 - 28 Jan 51: Advanced to SEOUL.
12 Feb 51: 1st Regt departed for KWANGJU (廣州).
13 Feb 51: Arrived KWANGJU.
14 Feb 51: Most of the men of the 1st Regt were captured or killed.
