3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:A. Chronology:
Bntered the NK People’s Army on 10 September 1950 and trained for a period of 9 days at SEOUL. On the evening of 19 September 1950, the PW departed for YONG DUNG PO and arrived at his destination at 0400 hours on the following day. From 20 September 1950 until the time of hie capture, the PW was in YONG DUNG PO, doing nothing. On 22 September 1950, the PW attempted to return to his home in SEOUL and was stopped by a SK Organization and was turned over to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.
B. Unit Organization and Strength:
(1) Original Strength and organization:
40 men in the 2nd Company.
C. Equipment:
About 8 men with PPSH SMG
About 17 men with Mosin M1890/30 rifles
The rest of the unit was unarmed
D. Unit Duties:
Not to let the US troops get past their defense line.
E. Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of troops low. Propaganda among troops that PUSAN was in NK hands.
4. GENERAL:PW first found out that he was a member of the 9th Division. from a NK soldier that had been taken prisoner at the same time.
