3. REMARKS:Subject was inducted in the army on 12 Aug 50 at SHIN GI SHU (新義州) and assigned to the 42nd Mechanized Regt. On 7 Sep 50 the 42nd Mechanized Regt moved to SEOUL and joined the 18th Div.
On 15 Sep 50 approx 15 large tanks of the 42nd Mechanized Regt moved to YONG DONG PO and on 17 Sep 50, 15 of those tanks were destroyed by air raid. On 19 Sep 50 the 42nd Mechanized Regt retreated toward SEOUL.
Strength of 42nd Mechanized Regt was approx 600 men. The 42nd Mechanized Regt was composed of 4 companies. There was an automatic rifle company, a tank company, a headquarters company arid an assistant technical company. There were approximately 100 automatic rifles in the automatic rifle company. There were approximately 15 Russian made tanks in the tank company, and the headquarters company consisted of an engineer platoon and a patrol platoon. The assistant technical company was a repair unit.
Each man of the 42nd Mechanized Regt was equipped with a rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition.
Approx 350 men of the 42nd Mechanized Regt met an American force at NO PYAN GIN. The battle started about 16:00 22 Sep 50 and ended 18:00 on the same day. He was captured 23 Sep 50 at NO PYAN GIN.
