Subject was cooperative and talked freely. Information seems fairly reliable.
3. REMARKS:Subject was inducted on 20 Aug 50 at CHUNG JEN (淸津). He was then sent to PYONG YANG on the 22nd and on to SEOUL on 27 Aug 50. At SUWON he was engaged as a truck driver, attached to the 47th Regt.
The overall strength of the 47th Regt was unknown but there were 6 more fellow truck drivers. Subject was twice detailed to SEOUL to pick up rifles from a school house to bring back to his unit. On the second trip back he observed 15 Russian heavy tanks parked near his unit.
He heard that 10 tanks were sent to YONG DONG PO and five to a place unknown, possibly SUWON area. Seven of the 10 tanks were destroyed in the battle of YONG DONG PO while the 3 remaining tanks headed north.
The 47th Regt was armed with Russian type (new and old) rifles and were issued 100 rounds of ammunition. Hand grenades were issued to only certain individuals. Subject opines that the 47th Regt was scattered here and there along the SUWON area.
