3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:A. Chronology:
PW was inducted into the Army on 25 July 1950. Received about one month basic training at SINUIJU. The PW departed SINUIJU at the end of August 1950 for SUWON and arrived SUWON on 10 September 1950. On 19 September 1950, the PW arrived in YONG DUNG PO.
B. Unit Organization and Strength:
(1) Original organization and strength: Estimate of the 70th Regiment was 1,000 men.
(2) Actual battle organization and strength: About 210
C. Equipment:
Unknown number of mortars and 45 mm Anti-tank guns at SUWON.
D. Disposition:
Regimental Headquarters was located in SUWON. PW believed about 800 troops were still there.
E. Communication:
PW travelled on railroad from SINUIJU down to the 38th parallel arriving there at 6 September 1950.
F. Morale:
Low.
G. PW saw about 10 soldiers who wore black uniforms at SUWON on or about 13 September 1950. PW did not know who these soldiers were or what unit they belonged to.
