a. Chronology
28 Aug 50 – Conscripted at CHUNCHON and assigned to 38th Div, 1st Regt, 1st Bn, HMG CO.
Early Feb 51 - 38th Div deactivated. PW and 600 men reassigned to 12th NK Div in vicinity of HOENGSONG.
O/a 22 Feb 51 - 1st Bn, 12th Div engaged UN troops on Hill 728 or 828. Retreated to point 12km N of ANHUNG NI.
28 Feb 51 - 1st Regt, 12th Div engaged ROK at ANHUNG NI. PW deserted.
1 Mar 51 – PW captured.

e. Captured Equipment
Observed one LMG, 5-6 M-1 rifles, 20 carbines (poor condition, but serviceable) at HOENGSONG early Feb 51.
f. Replacement
None; but heard rumors at ANHUNG NI that the 12th Div will receive replacements 10-20 Mar 51, consisting of ex-ROK.
g. Morale
Low; troops know they are fighting a losing cause. Will desert at opportune moment.
h. Artillery
10 Dec 50 observed an estimated bn of CCF with 2-3 x 122mm howitzers in vicinity of HOKSU RI. Each howitzer pulled by 6 horses.
i. Road Construction
When the 38th Div was enroute S and passed through the vicinity of HUICHON (approx 40km E), observed thousands of civilians engaged in constructing a road leading toward YONGWON. Road was passable but vehicles were not observed. Believes that the road leading to YONGWON is the new MSR.
