Each man had type 38 rifle with 70-80 rd of ammo, 4 LMG and 2x60mm mortars in Co.
b. Supply:
24 Feb 51, received 20 rd of 60mm mortar ammo, No resupply of rifle ammo since departure from MANCHURIA. About 40 days ago each man received a towel, a pair of canvas shoes, and a pair of socks.
c. 66th Army:
66th Army committed in battle for first time since entering KOREA Nov 50.
50% of troops are former members of CNA.
Crossed 38th Parallel 6 Feb 51 and moved from mt to mt almost nightly.
d. Replacements:
Exec officer of the 8th Co departed for MANCHURIA about a month ago to get replacements.
e. CCF:
CCF units started on a two months rest 30 Jan 51, but the UN offensive caused 66th Army to move S with 196th and 197th Div in front and 198th Div in reserve. Heard that 38th and 39th Armies were in rear of 66th Army.
